Does FedEx deliver on Christmas? (2022)
By Chad Porto
Waiting for FedEx to deliver on Christmas?
Christmas means shopping, shipping, and special gifts from loved ones. Each year the shipping industry becomes more and more important on Christmas. As more people are ordering items online and shopping at digital storefronts, the importance and need for reliable delivery services have never been so important. Enter FedEx.
FedEx is among the largest delivery services in the United States. They’re right there with Amazon and the United States Postal Service. FedEx has become one of the more reliable outlets for decades now, and they’re as necessary as ever when it comes to making sure people get their Christmas packages on time.
But does that mean they deliver on the day of? After all, the United States Postal Service doesn’t deliver packages or mail on Christmas Day, so should you really expect FedEx to do the same? No, you really shouldn’t.
Is FedEx open on Christmas? (Will FedEx deliver on Christmas Day?)
FedEx, like the United States Postal Service, will not be delivering packages on Christmas Day. At least, not entirely. If you have Same Day City delivery enabled, you’ll still be getting your package, but no other service will have theirs delivered.
Unlike a lot of delivery services, FedEx has many different shipping tiers. They have seven in total, with Express and Ground being the two most common. So if you’re hoping that your package will be there on Monday, Dec. 26, if you’re using Express, it won’t be.
Express will be closed on Dec. 26 and will have modified service on Dec. 30 and 31, while being closed on Jan 1 and 2. Fed Ex Ground will be back to normal service on Dec. 26 but will also be closed on Jan 1 and 2.
The complete schedule for their shipping routes can be seen on their official Holiday Schedule PDF found right here.
