If there’s one store everyone tends to hit around the holidays, it’s Walmart. The store essentially has everything you’re looking for.

Whether you’re buying all your groceries for your Thanksgiving dinner, need a centerpiece, or want to knock out some early Christmas shopping, Walmart has you covered. Plus you’re always bound to find exactly what you’re looking for and sometimes, what you’re not looking for.

Regardless, going to Walmart on Thanksgiving is a tradition a lot of people have as a lot of Black Friday sales can start early. However, 2022 is a much different ballgame so it’s clear the company is going to do things a bit differently this year.

Of course, you’ll want to know if Walmart is going to be open or closed on Thanksgiving Day if you plan on shopping.

Is Walmart closed on Thanksgiving? (2022)

I’m sure a lot of us already knew this as it’s been a hot topic within the past month. If you didn’t, Walmart will be closed on Thanksgiving this year. The hugely popular chain is closing its doors on Thanksgiving as shared by CNN. The news outlet also shared a quote from Walmart’s CEO who said, “It’s a thing of the past. We’ll again be closed on Thanksgiving.”

I’m hesitant to agree as Thanksgiving is one of those holidays where people just want to eat and spend time with their families. Yes, Christmas is the big holiday but there is something so comforting and cozy about Thanksgiving. It’s nice to get up in the morning and watch the parade while you’re cooking and not have to worry about going to work.

Plus let’s be honest, retail workers go through enough during the holiday season so it’s only right for them to be off on said holiday. No doubt a lot of them are ready to pull their hair out with all the business they’ll be drumming up. Either way, it’s nice to see Walmart is giving its employees Thanksgiving off to relax and enjoy.
