Nov. 11 is Veterans Day which means many federally-run businesses will be closed. As a result, we know not to expect mail delivery or to be able to stop in at our local banking branch on the holiday.

However, given the fact that the Departments of Motor Vehicles are state agencies and are not federally run, there tends to be confusion at times regarding when the DMV will and won’t be open when holidays such as Veterans Day roll around.

In fact, it’s likely the mystery surrounding the DMV’s hours of operations for Friday that led you here today. With Veterans Day having arrived, can you expect the DMV to be open on Nov. 11, or is the DMV closed on Friday?

Is the DMV closed tomorrow?

DMV locations are expected to be closed on Nov. 11, 2022, due to the Veterans Day holiday. While not federally operated like banks and the post office, the DMV still closes its doors on federal holidays and since Veterans Day is a federal holiday you can expect your local DMV to be closed in observance of the holiday.

Is the DMV open on Veterans Day?

If you’re hoping to head out to the DMV on Friday, Nov. 11, let us save you a trip as the DMV is not expected to be open on Friday due to the Veterans Day holiday.
