Harley Quinn: Another Sharkley Adventure turns the tide
The last few episodes of Harley Quinn have had a severe lack of Harley. Thankfully, the series bucked that trend this week.
Within the past few weeks, Harley Quinn has felt less like Harley’s show and more focused on everyone else. While “The Joker: The Killing Vote” was a solid Joker episode, it didn’t fit the show’s vibe.
Even so with Season 4 up in the air, for now, Season 3 has been okay. While not the best we’ve ever seen from the crew, there have been plenty of solid moments within this season. However, the fun hasn’t ended yet.
“Another Sharkley Adventure” seems to have the potential for multiple shenanigans from our favorite band of Gotham villains.
“Another Sharkley Adventure” is a return to form for Harley Quinn.
One area where Harley Quinn has been lacking is well, Harley. However, “Another Sharkley Adventure” did an excellent job of rectifying that issue. Before talking about the episode, there will be spoilers for Harley Quinn Season 3, Episode 7 from this point on.
Let’s start off with the non-Harley-related plotline. It’s clear from the title of this episode that King Shark was going to be involved. Honestly, it was such an interesting storyline related to him and what he was dealing with. Even though King Shark’s story ended sadly, it was nice to see him getting his time in the spotlight.
However, the major plotline of the episode followed Harley as she tried to kidnap Bruce Wayne to find out where Frank is. While the episode didn’t focus much on that, we did get to see Harley and Batgirl team up which was nice. It’s clear the show is trying to show a friendship and kinship between the two which works surprisingly well.
Additionally, we watched as Harley grappled with something solo. She didn’t have anyone else to turn to but herself and that’s where Harley tends to shine. While she did work with Batgirl a bit, it was nice to see Harley doing her thing and even realize she was in the wrong. In the end, she played an incredible trick on Bruce and ended up completing her mission.
Overall, “Another Sharkley Adventure” feels like it’s a step in the right direction for Season 3, and hopefully, we’ll see more episodes like this before the season wraps up. All in all, I really hope they don’t decide to remove King Shark from the crew because he’s such a delight. No matter how the show proceeds though, “Another Sharkley Adventure” was an excellent episode.
Harley Quinn returns with a new episode Thursday on HBO Max.
