Celebrate National Book Lovers day with the Bromance Book Club
Did you know there is a day to celebrate book lovers? National Book Lovers Day is celebrated every year on August 9th.
Frankly, I had no idea there was such a thing, but as a reader, I’ll take any excuse to either pick up a new book or recommend one. Right now, it really feels like reading is incredibly popular and a lot of authors are being discovered or rediscovered by new readers.
In honor of National Book Lovers Day, it would only be right to talk about a series that features books within a book. While most people would use this time to celebrate Book Lovers by Emily Henry, we’re taking it back a few years.
Rather, it’s only right to talk about the most beloved yet timeless modern romance series: The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams.
The Bromance Book Club series is quintessential for National Book Lovers Day.
If there is one series you should start this year, it’s The Bromance Book Club series by Lyssa Kay Adams. However, the reason why it’s perfect to read for National Book Lovers Day is that the books are truly a testament to romance novels and the people who read them. Not only does each book feature a love story between our characters, but it also features snippets from the romance books the characters are reading.
Let’s back up for a second though. If you don’t know, this series follows a group of powerful men (athletes, businessmen, singers..etc) who run a “Bromance Book Club” in which they read romance novels to become better partners to their wives/girlfriends. The first book in the series entitled The Bromance Book Club follows a baseball player on the verge of divorce after finding out his wife has been faking it for years and it’s essentially him trying to win her back.
The second book, Undercover Bromance follows the wife’s sister and another member of the club as they work to get revenge on her disgusting former boss and catch feelings along the way. Then book 3 is Crazy Stupid Bromance which is a friends-to-lovers story about two nerds who can’t seem to find the right time as they’re both dealing with a lot including some family drama.
Moving onto book 4, Isn’t It Bromantic? follows Vlad, an important member of the crew known as the Russian and a hockey player who desperately wants to reconnect with his estranged wife. The two end up getting embroiled in some intense situations, more akin to the romantic suspense subgenre. As for the upcoming release, A Very Merry Bromance is going to be Colton’s book who is a country singer and is set to release on November 1st, 2022.
While each of these books features an incredible romance, this entire series is a love letter to both romance readers and the romance genre. Nothing ever feels like it’s being made light of and nothing about this series belittles romance novels. Rather, it celebrates how much good reading especially reading romance novels can help your relationship.
Even though some moments can be unbelievable or completely over-the-top, The Bromance Book Club series is the ultimate pick for National Book Lovers Day. No matter what you’re in the mood for, this series has a book you’ll undoubtedly enjoy. Plus this series was optioned by Netflix so let’s hope the books eventually become a film series.
Regardless, The Bromance Book Club series is a lot of fun. It’s also a great pick if you’re looking for a beach read. No matter what you’re reading though, National Book Lovers Day is an excellent excuse to finally read that book you’ve been putting off for months.
