Tom Swift puts multiple lives on the line in “…And the Book of Isaac”
Tom Swift is crashing towards its series finale (we are not okay with this), but of course, we still have time before we make it to the end of this unique series. But in the meantime, we have to talk about episode 7, “…And the Book of Isaac.”
Why do we have to talk about this Tom Swift episode? Well, how about the fact that Isaac almost dies! Or what about Zenzi being trapped in a glass room as the temperature gets deadly hot and a weird smoke comes out of the vents? Seriously, this was an episode packed with potentially dangerous consequences.
But it is not just Zenzi and Isaac in danger. In fact, it turns out that the target of the poison that is slowly killing Isaac was actually Tom himself. (Sounds about right.)
Once again, Tom’s scientific mind, along with a little help from Rowan, is the key to saving the day for Isaac, while Zenzi gets a surprising save from our resident bad guy politician, Nathan. It was a busy episode. But it was also a really important one.
Tom Swift sees multiple characters in danger in “…And the Book of Isaac”
Not only did we find out that Nathan might not be quite as awful as we thought (well until that final scene), but it turns out that Rowan has actually been around longer than anyone in the Swift circle realized thanks to Isaac’s memories from his time unconscious.
But perhaps the biggest shock of the entire episode came in the final minutes when we learned that the young investor that Tom was courting is apparently behind a lot of the bad things that have been coming his way. And not only that, but she is also the kind of villain who kidnaps a doctor and holds his life and Zenzi’s life over Nathan. In fact, she gives him a choice of either allowing Zenzi to die or killing the doctor (this is the Swift personal doctor).
Guess what he chose? While we are glad he didn’t choose to have Zenzi killed, it was definitely hard to see him actually kill the family doctor as he was tied up in the back of a car. Basically, Nathan is clearly in deep with some bad people and the target of those bad people is the Swift family.
What does this mean? Well, we have no clue. But we do know that Tom and his friends and family need to get their act in gear and save his father before they run out of time and options. And not only that, but they need to figure out exactly who is coming after them before these people get any deeper into their lives.
We also need to figure out exactly what the story is with Rowan. Is he truly trying to help Tom Swift? And if he is, then what changed? Not only that but what about that memory that Isaac had where we saw Rowan storming his way towards Tom’s father in a flashback.
We have a lot of questions after this episode and honestly, we can’t believe they canceled the series before we could get to this point in the show. This episode alone will keep us coming back for more until the very end.
But we want to know what you thought of this Tom Swift episode? Were you surprised by what happened in the final moments of the episode? Do you think Nathan is a good person in a bad situation? And what about Rowan?
