What We Do In the Shadows has been a consistent presence on TV since its release. Most of that is due to the show’s excellent cast.

Since its inception, What We Do In The Shadows has captivated viewers. Every season, the show seems to get even wacker but more lovable, too. Honestly, there is truly nothing bad to say about the show aside from how they treat Guillermo.

Coming upon its fourth season, What We Do in the Shadows was nominated for an Emmy in 2022 for “Outstanding Comedy Series.” However, that was the only nomination the show was given. Frankly, it’s a bit baffling and that’s what we’re here to talk about.

At least one member of the What We Do in the Shadows cast deserved to be on the Emmy ballot.

The What We Do in the Shadows cast was snubbed by the 2022 Emmys.

Each year, the Emmy nominations are surprising in a lot of ways. In particular, it’s always annoying when a deserving show or cast doesn’t get their flowers. For 2022, that has to be the What We Do in the Shadows cast as all of the main players have been consistent performers.

Looking at the vampire characters, in particular, Natasia Demetriou, Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, and Mark Prosch have all played their characters to perfection. Between all of them though, Berry as Lazlo and Novak as Nandor seem especially insulting. These two know exactly how to play their characters without it being over-the-top or annoying.

Aside from Berry and Novak though, Demetriou and Prosch also deserve to be recognized. For the role of Colin Robinson alone, Prosch deserves something. Then there’s Demetriou as Nadja who has become almost drunk with power and it’s so fascinating to watch.

However, one person I haven’t mentioned is Harvey Guillen who plays Guillermo and this man puts his heart and soul into that character. Each week, we watch as Guillen truly becomes Guillermo and he kills it every time. Coupled with the twist of his family origins, what are the Emmys thinking this year? If Harvey Guillen doesn’t get nominated next year, then there really is a problem.

Considering the number of newcomers to the ballot, it’s nice to see What We Do in the Shadows at least being nominated for something. Then again, hopefully, we’ll eventually see the cast of What Do In the Shadows ends up in the acting categories at some point. Regardless of how you feel, it’s still a happy day as Season 4 of What We Do In the Shadows begins airing on July 12th on FX.
