When thinking about Joe Jonas, most people don’t think of DNCE. Nevertheless, the band featuring Jonas, Jin-Joo Lee, and Jack Lawless is back together.

No doubt most of us thought DNCE was done after the Jonas Brothers reunited. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case. Instead, the rock band decided to reunite in 2022 minus a member but is still just as strong.

Somehow, the band doesn’t really fit into one particular genre. While breakout hit, “Cake By The Ocean” is the ultimate summer song, the band is all over the place in terms of sound. Even the first two songs released in 2022 prove that.

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait much longer to get some new DNCE music as the band’s latest single, “Got Me Good” was released on July 8th, 2022.

Should you add “Got Me Good” by DNCE to your summer playlist?

Before talking about the song, it’s only right to feature the song. Be sure to give it a listen first and then we can break down if it’s worth making the cut on your favorite playlist.

The band’s first two singles, “Dancing Feet” and “Move” have had a similar vibe as they make you want to dance and it’s no different with “Got Me Good.” Rather than focus on love though, “Got Me Good” decided to flip the script in more ways than one.

“Got Me Good” does a unique take on the breakup song. Instead of being sad and melancholy, the song is more upbeat and focuses on how their lost love pulled their own tricks on them. Additionally, the song doesn’t bash the person for leaving but rather seems to admire them, especially with the lyrics “I can’t be that mad/got what I was giving,” and “took a page from my book/damn baby, you got me good.”

Most importantly, “Got Me Good” is catchy and it’s one you’ll want to play whether you’re by the pool, driving to work, or just need a pick-me-up. With fun lyrics, a good sound, and amazing vocals, “Got Me Good” is another solid addition to DNCE’s catalog. As someone who loves both DNCE and Joe Jonas, this song is a major win for me. It’s definitely getting added to my favorite songs of 2022 and makes me super excited for more DNCE in the future.

Maybe we’ll get a new DNCE and Jonas Brothers album in 2022. Even if we don’t, DNCE’s newest release, “Got Me Good” gets a major thumbs-up from me and is worth adding to your playlist.
