The 4th of July has never been considered a sexy holiday. Most people consider the 4th of July a time for drinking, having a barbeque, and generally, having a lazy day.

However, in the romance world, everything can be made just a little sexy. Romance books centered around holidays have always been popular. Most people think of popular holidays such as Christmas, New Year’s Eve, or even, Valentine’s Day.

You might be surprised to learn that there is basically a romance book centered around every holiday out there. Whether you want something for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, or the 4th of July, you’re able to find something.

With the 4th of July coming up though, this romance book should be next on your reading list and is perfect to read if you’re watching fireworks or just want to have a quiet night in.

Need a 4th of July read? Try out Bottle Rocket by Erin McLellan.

Before getting started, this book is the third in a series, but each of them can be read as a standalone. It’s best to go in order if you don’t want any spoilers but if you don’t care, you’re good to start with Bottle Rocket by Erin McLellan.

Released in 2020, this book follows Rosie Holiday who is recently divorced, and the second-chance romance she has with Leo. The two tried to make it work when they were younger, but things quickly fell apart. Eventually, the two meet again over a decade late and it turns out the sparks are still there.

What makes this book such a delight is how sex-positive the story is. While Rosie felt stifled in her marriage, she’s really able to open up and embrace her sexuality while being with Leo. It might not seem like much, but Rosie comes into her own by the end of the story. Plus this book features sex toys in a major way if you’re missing that in your romance novels.

Honestly, this book is smoking hot from page one so if you’re in the mood for some spice, then Erin McLellan has you covered. This book is also relatively short as it’s under 300 pages and it’s available on Kindle Unlimited if you’re subscribed. Overall, this book is a fun and steamy time if you’re in the mood for more than just fireworks for the 4th of July.
