Breaking down PlayStation Plus’s July benefits
If you’re a fan of the Crash Bandicoot series and have yet to play the fourth installment, this is your lucky month. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time brings the action of a 90s platformer into the 2020s, though not without its faults.
This is developer Toys for Bob’s direct sequel-slash-reboot to Naughty Dog’s trilogy, which ended in 1998. The multiverse is in danger and it’s up to Crash and his sister, Coco, to save it from Dr. Neo Cortex. The varying worlds are gorgeous and memorable and you’ll want to replay them just to take in all the details.
Next up is The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan, the first game of their series. Starring Shawn Ashmore, it’s a choice-and-consequence game where any player can live or die depending on what you choose. Five friends set sail on a diving trip and stumble upon an abandoned military ship from World War II. We’ll leave it at that.
You can either play solo, online multiplayer or couch multiplayer offline. It’s a little slow to start, but the impending sense of dread keeps you on your toes.
Lastly, we have Arcadegeddon. It’s your cooperative PvE and PvP multiplayer shooter where you’re fighting to save the last arcade. You can solo it or play with up to three players online and fight your way through different biomes and mini-games. The rewards are fun and there’s almost always something ridiculous around every corner.
Your July games are available to download starting Tuesday, July 5th.
