The new iteration of PlayStation Plus arrives this month! If you’re a current subscriber, you’re moving into what’s called the “Essential” tier, and nothing’s changing. You’re still getting access to the free games that rotate monthly.

Speaking of, here are your free games for the month of June:

  • God of War (2018)
  • Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker
  • Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Breaking down PlayStation Plus’s June benefits

The heavy-hitter for this month is God of War, the reboot that was released in 2018. This actually had people speculating that we would hear more about the upcoming sequel, Ragnarok, in the latest State of Play, but it’s still radio silence. Likewise, you also have had access to it in the PS Plus Collection and PS Now, so you’ve most likely played this game before now.

Still, God of War took the gaming world by storm. You play as Kratos as he attempts to deal with his past while raising his son and mourning his wife. The Norse mythology is heavy and fantastic and all kinds of fun.

Next up is Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, your online multiplayer game for the month. You play 4v4 in large-scale fights between Naruto characters. The art direction pops and makes it fun, although the voice acting can sometimes fall short. If you’re a fan of the anime, you’ll be interested in this one, especially since it’s a decent Super Smash Bros. clone.

And speaking of Smash Bros clones last up is Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, which is just straight-up Smash Bros. but with Nickelodeon characters, which isn’t a bad thing, especially if you’re a kid from the 90s. Rugrats, Rocko’s Modern Life, and Hey Arnold are all on the table, and characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, and The Loud House. The speed of the fight is amped up, making it really fun to play with a group of friends.
