After seven seasons and 100 episodes, Alycia Debnam-Carey bids farewell to her zombie fighter alias, Alicia Clark, in The Walking Dead prequel, Fear the Walking Dead.  She has been with the AMC horror drama since its premiere in 2015 and was part of the original cast.

During the May 29th episode, Amina and Alicia survived the virus after getting bit by a zombie earlier in the season.  It felt like her journey was coming to a complete stop, and it would have been a significant loss because there was so much for Alicia to achieve.

Alicia shares some reflective time with her eight-year-old self as she fights off the virus, an image of her self-conscience while hallucinating.  She gains new momentum and resolution after the connection, and when the fever breaks, she makes an omen to help others.  It felt like a satisfying conclusion to Alicia.

With her surviving and not becoming a zombie and her refreshed appearance, there is that tiny hope that Alicia might return in the future.  For now, though, this exits another performance chapter for Alycia-Debnam Carey.

In a lengthy Instagram post, the Australian native opened up about being part of something “life-changing” that allowed her to grow her creative talents.  Alicia also expressed her gratitude to those who helped her in her FTWD expedition.

Before landing the role of Alicia, Carey starred as Lexa Kom Trikru in the CW’s The 100 in seasons two and three.  She returned as Clarke’s spiritual mentor and a judge in the series finale.  Her death in the third season sparked controversy in the LGBT fandom and initiated productions to do better with the handling of LGBT characters for positive representation.

Following her exit from Fear the Walking Dead, Alycia took over the role of Emily in the upcoming Hulu series Saint X after Victoria Pedretti dropped out.  She will also star alongside Sigourney Weaver in the forthcoming Amazon limited series, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart.
