Riverdale is back in action after its midseason hiatus and a wacky alternate Rivervale timeline. Last week’s season premiere picked up with the immediate aftermath of Hiram Lodge’s bomb, signaling a dark and tragic moment moving forward even as mysterious things began to occur.

The bomb will continue to be a plot point this season as seen in the synopsis for this week’s episode. Per IMDB, the official synopsis for, “Chapter One Hundred and Two: Death at a Funeral,” reads:

"Following the explosion at the Andrews’ residence, Archie assembles a team to help rebuild his home; Jughead copes with his new reality; Veronica breaks some news to the town, which later prompts a visit from her mother."

After the shocking loss of Hiram Lodge, Veronica will have to learn how to step into her father’s shoes, bringing her reality star mother to town, as seen in the official preview for this week’s episode below:

As seen above, Archie, Betty, and Jughead will be dealing with the ramifications of the explosion as they rebuild and recover. Whether Jughead’s hearing loss will be permanent, or if it’s connected, Archie and Betty’s new superpowers remain to be seen.
