Amanda Gorman

There are some women who make history young and one of those women is Amanda Gorman. She may be a name you are not as familiar with, but Gorman made history multiple times in recent years.

So what makes Amanda Gorman so special? How about the fact that one of the first times she made history came when she was named the nation’s first Youth Poet Laureate. Pretty impressive right? But then she took that to a whole new level. And how did she do this? By heading to inauguration day of course.

As People Magazine pointed out, “At 22, Gorman became the youngest inaugural poet in United States history on Jan. 20, 2021, when she recited her poem ‘The Hill We Climb’ at President Joe Biden’s swearing-in ceremony.”

Of course, these two things were enough to make the young woman as one to watch out for, but the fact that she continues to be a part of the movers and shakers, which includes attending Variety’s Power of Women event, means that we are expecting to see even more great things from Gorman. And considering she is making history with poetry has us even more excited to see what comes next for her.
