Dolly Parton

When it comes to women making history there is no one quite like Dolly Parton. Over the years, the country singer and actress has done many things to leave a lasting impact on the entertainment industry. However, it is not her musical career or even her acting career that will have Parton going down in the history books (even if those will definitely help).

The reason we love Dolly Parton so much is that she has many philanthropic endeavors including her education and poverty relief initiatives. One of her most iconic initiatives might just be the Dolly Parton Imagination Library! This is a program that mails out one book per month to any enrolled child from the day they are born until they enter kindergarten.

On top of her educational efforts, she is also a strong supporter of health and wellness. From raising money for charities helping people with HIV and AIDS, as well as cancer, to contributing funds to a hospital and cancer center, Parton is one of those women who puts her money where her mouth is. But that’s not even the least of what she has done to cement herself in the history books.

In fact, Dolly Parton was one of the first big names to truly go all-in on helping to find a vaccine for COVID-19, donating $1 million to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and their research department. She also took part in the vaccine efforts with a song and publicly getting vaccinated to help show others that this was the best way to protect themselves and others.

If you want an inspiration, Dolly Parton is definitely at the top of our list.
