Avril Lavigne is back and better than ever! It’s been three years since Avril Lavigne released new music and now she’s back with music that dates back to her debut album. With new collaborations that include Machine Gun Kelly, Mark Hoppus, and Blackbear, fans are in for a treat. Here is everything you need to know from her seventh album that was just released!

Avril Lavigne’s seventh album, Love Sux, was just released!

Longtime fans of Lavigne might note that she is not a frequent collaborator. This album holds the largest amount of collaborations she has ever done! Her collaborations with Machine Gun Kelly have also influenced a more “punk” and “emo” feel with Lavigne stating in an Entertainment Weekly interview that  “most alternative record I’ve made from front to back”.

With it being more than two decades since songs like “Complicated” and “Sk8er Boi” have been released, it’s about time. Almost ten years after her debut in 2007, Lavigne switched gears with her third studio album, The Best Damn Thing. Although the album was a critical success, it was largely a pop album.

From the album came the worldwide success of the song “Girlfriend”.  The song became a worldwide success and was one of the bestselling songs of the decade. But it was a pop song.

She stated in the same interview that this album, Love Sux, finally felt like herself again. She said it felt like she was “back in high school hanging out with the type of people [she] grew up with, and it was just effortless.”

So whether you are a longtime fan or not, who wouldn’t root for someone who found themselves again?
