American Idol is back for its 20th season
The original reality singing show is back! Some people might know American Idol as the origin of Kelly Clarkson. Other people might keep up with American Idol as a way to discover new artists. Whatever the case may be, American Idol is back for its 20th season. After first debuting on American Idol in 2002, the show has seen its fair shows of stars and artists come out of the show. With the twentieth season set to debut this Sunday, February 27, there is nothing less to expect from the show.
American Idol is back for its 20th season
American Idol has had different judges appear throughout its past seasons on television. However, it was announced in December and has confirmed that its most recent set of judges will continue for its twentieth season. Katy Perry, Luke Perry, and Lionel Richie will return as judges. They have been appearing as the trio of judges on the series for the past four seasons. Ryan Seacrest will also continue as a host.
The most recent change will be of Bobby Jones not continuing as a mentor. His role on the show lasted for four seasons also. He mentioned that he has a new role in a new network, but that has yet to be disclosed. He served as the sole mentor for the show.
It will be the fifth season on ABC since American Idol had its revival. The show will also be available to stream through Hulu. While there has yet to be a successful artist since season eleven’s Phillip Philips, this season is season twenty. It’s time for a breakout artist to come from the show again.
