Moving onto the final two reading challenges, the first one had to be the “Beat The Backlist” reading challenge. This challenge is more about reading books you either already own or books you’re excited to read that aren’t new releases. The entire point of the challenge is to read books that weren’t published in 2022. These are “backlist” titles. It is perfect for those of us with a long TBR!

There are no guidelines for this reading challenge. Although, they do have a list of prompts you can follow. There is also a bingo board available. It is truly a challenge that you can make your own! While there’s such a large focus on reading new releases, this is a great way to finally get to those books you’ve been putting off.

The last challenge is more prompt-focused. That’s Nerd Daily’s 2022 Reading Challenge. This one is similar to the “Popsugar” one. It features a lot of cool prompts and also includes 52 prompts so you can try to read a book a week. Honestly, if you’re looking for ways to spice up your reading and maybe read something out of your comfort zone, then Nerd Daily is the way to go. Some of the prompts include “Published in your birthday month,” “Book with a blue spine”, and “Quoted by an author you like.”

Once again, it’s really up to you if you want to make this easy or challenging.  While 2022 has a handful of challenges, it’s an accomplishment to be able to sit down and read something. You should never feel pressured to read, especially if you’re doing it for fun. Even if you aren’t, these challenges should help guide your reading and make your TBR just a little bit smaller before the year ends.
