Bella Hadid is one of Victoria’s Secret’s most recognized faces. After having a career that began from a young age, her name only grew after taking part in the Victoria Secret’s Fashion Show. When the company rebranded in 2020 after facing many controversies in 2018 however, many models left. The company was receiving backlash due to a lack of extended sizing, transphobic comments, and sexual misconduct. Years later, Bella is making her return.
Bella Hadid returns to Victoria’s Secret
Bella took part in the companies recent holiday company campaign shot by Zooey Grossman. Since her departure, Victoria’s Secret has made effort to be more inclusive and rebrand.
Ed Razek, the executive who said the controversial comments stepped down from their position. The company has also formed the VS Collective, which includes a group of Victoria’s Secret models and public figures that include Hailey Bieber, Paola Elsesser, Megan Rapinoe, and Naomi Osaka.
Apart from the internal changes, Victoria’s Secret made, Bella told E! News that she decided to rejoin the brand due to her personal growth.
She said: “Another way that I realize my growth – which was super important for me – was being able to be in a setting that I once felt unpowered and to now feel so empowered and so reassured. I don’t know if people understand that just as much as you would feel that it’s uncomfortable to be in your underwear shooting a commercial it is uncomfortable. So the thing about Victoria’s Secret for me now is that they really, really care about us. ”
While she is the only model to make her way back to Victoria’s Secret so far, we hope to see more models come back to the brand soon!
