Let me start by saying I am not a Justin Bieber fan. I don’t hate the guy. But I never imagined myself writing a piece celebrating him. After the year he had, however, it is hard not to say it was the year of Justin Bieber. This is why.

The year of Justin Bieber

On January 1, 2021, Justin Bieber released the third single for what at the time would be his highly anticipated album Justice. The song was called “Anyone”.  While it was arguably a song that did not reach much attention, the timing of the release set the tone for the New Year.

“Hold On” and “Peaches” were released as the next singles in March. While the album was also released in March, “Peaches” helped propel the album to number one and became his seventh number-one single.  Because of this success, Justin became the first solo male artist in history to simultaneously debut at No. 1 on both Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 charts.

Which such success that Justin had not seen in years, Justice became the first Justin Bieber album to remain at the top of the charts for more than a week in over a decade. It was safe to say, “Justin Bieber is back”!

After the success, Justin released a surprise gospel-inspired EP on Easter and began collaborating with artists again during the summer. His July collaboration with Kid Laroi is still on radio waves up to this day.  The song titled “Stay” became his ninth number-one single on the Billboard pop charts.

With everything Justin touches becoming better and better, the year 2022 is bound to be just as successful for Justin Bieber.
