12 spellbinding new science fiction and fantasy books to read this November
By Lacy Baugher
Maybe it’s the fact that the days are slowly getting shorter or that the weather’s distinctly less warm and sunny outside, but November is truly just an excellent time of year to find someplace to cozy up with a good book. There’s also the fact that there’s truly an embarrassment of riches arriving (yet again!) for science fiction and fantasy fans this month thanks to the various production delays that have plagued the publishing industry all year. But that just means our holiday book wishlists have suddenly gotten uncomfortably long.
From a print version of one of the internet’s most popular webcomic (Lore Olympus) to a long-awaited return to a popular fantasy world (Terciel and Eleanor) and multiple buzzy debuts (Skin of the Sea, A Marvellous Light) that have everyone talking there are all manner of intriguing new titles heading our way. Plus, several fan-favorite authors (Melissa Meyer, Rebecca Ross) are back with new offerings, and multiple highly anticipated sequels are also slated to arrive (Jade Legacy, The Bone Shard Emperor) this month. Truly, there is going to be something for everyone.
Consider this our regular reminder that if you’re thinking of buying books for the holiday season – get those orders in early at your local indie. The global supply chain issues are unlikely to abate before Christmas, which means Santa is going to have his hands full getting everyone their pre-orders. And there are simply too many good titles heading our way in the coming weeks to miss out!
