Celebrating the one year anniversary of Ariana Grande’s sixth album
October marks the first anniversary of Ariana Grande’s sixth album, Positions. It was released on October 30, 2020, to critical success and love by fans. The album, like her previous albums, was her Top 100 album. While it swayed more towards a more R&B sound that drew some criticism, it still ended up on year-end charts and gave recognition and praise all around for Ariana. On the first anniversary, here is more on Ariana Grande’s sixth studio album.
Ariana Grande’s sixth album
One of the most recognizable songs from the album is the one that the album is titled after – Positions. The single speaks to the multi-dimensional ability of women. It was released in a very heated time for the world and even features Ariana in the White House acting as a female president. Although the song is still a pop song, the lyrics and music video, still speak to the present times.
The album also saw the singles 34+35 and POV. It joined in collaboration with artists Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion. The singles helped solidify her role as a pop megastar and continue maturing her role in music with her music adulting with her.
Not only did her music mature but the acclaim also came in the album. Although it did not have a breakout hit, none of its standalone singles or album had a negative review. At the time of its release, the Irish Times wrote a review describing it saying, “even though bangers are scarce on the ground, Positions solidifies Grande as one of pop’s leading voices.”
Because so, Positions is an album worth recognizing. Not only for Ariana Grande fans but as an album in music history. It will be remembered for years to come!
