Legacies: Rebekah Mikaelson returns
For fans who have been waiting for another Mikaelson to appear on Legacies, the good news has arrived. In an upcoming episode of Legacies, Claire Holt will be reprising her role as Original Vampire Rebekah Mikaelson.
Rebekah Mikaelson first entered The Vampire Diaries Universe in the third season of The Vampire Diaries as Klaus’s younger sister and another Original Vampire antagonist. While Rebekah created mayhem in Mystic Falls, she eventually moved on from the small town to join her siblings in New Orleans when The Originals started.
Between the two shows, Rebekah became a compelling and well-developed character. Although she knew that as an Original Vampire, Rebekah was nearly indestructible, that did not stop Rebekah from wishing to be human.
Rebekah knew she did not wish to live for eternity if there was an alternative and hoped for a life where she could live life to the fullest and grow old.
In Rebekah’s last appearance, she learned Klaus had secured Rebekah as being next in line to receive the cure to vampirism after Damon Salvatore. But, as of the timing of Rebekah Mikaelson’s return, she should still be an Original Vampire, giving her the chance to possibly help fight if any monsters were to appear during Rebekah’s return.
Another Mikaelson appearance has been coming for a long time, and it will only help tie in Hope’s past and present. The remaining members of the Mikaelson family had promised to look after Hope, so given the danger that she has been in, Rebekah coming to Hope’s aid could be a reminder of the Mikaelson family motto, “Always and Forever.”
Given what Hope has been going through and questioning if she should transition into a full Tribrid, Rebekah’s arrival may be just in time to help Hope go through whatever comes next.
