GAC Family kicks off its inaugural Great American Christmas celebration with Welcome to Great American Christmas, a holiday special hosted by Debbie Matenopoulos and Cameron Mathison. Here’s everything you need to know about the newest holiday destination.

What is GAC Family?

GAC Family is the newest branch of GAC Media. Former Hallmark Channel head Bill Abbott is the GAC Media CEO and his time at Crown Media taught him a thing or two about how to launch a family friendly channel.

Operating under the slogan “Stories Well Told”, GAC Family and sister network GAC Living (whose motto is “Life Well Lived”) will feature a celebration of the holiday season complete with a packed lineup of new original movies starring some familiar faces from around the Hallmark Channel.

GAC Family’s Great American Christmas kicks off on October 16, roughly one week ahead of Hallmark’s highly anticipated Countdown to Christmas 2021.

What is Welcome to Great American Christmas?

Hallmark fans know Matenopoulos and Mathison as the hosts of the beloved Home & Family daytime show. The series was one of the most popular draws for the Hallmark Channel throughout the year, offering lifestyle and wellness advice, recipes, craft and decorating ideas and lots of special guests. The series ended in spring 2021 but now its spirit lives on with GAC Family as Mathison and Matenopoulos team up for the holiday special that will preview and kick off Great American Christmas.

The special will offer viewers a glimpse at the impressive lineup of new original movies coming to the fledgling network, with lots of special guest appearances planned.

Expect to see a preview of A Kindhearted Christmas, a GAC original coming November 20 starring mathison and Jennie Garth.

How to watch Welcome to Great American Christmas

Welcome to Great American Christmas airs Saturday, October 16 at 8pm ET/PT. If you miss the premiere it will very likely replay throughout the holiday season.

How to watch GAC Family

GAC Family is now available on a number of cable services including DirecTV, Fubo, Hulu, Cox, Dish, Comcast and Spectrum, among others. It’s also available on Frndly.
