When Jonas Brothers and solo music comes up, most people focus on Nick Jonas. Unless you’re a die-hard Jonas fan, you might not realize that Joe Jonas had his solo album. Entitled “Fastlife,” it remains one of the most critically underrated albums of any of their careers and deserves even more love now.

After the Jonas Brothers broke up back in 2013, fans were extremely upset. To try and figure out their paths, Nick and Joe both released solo music. While Nick’s was more popular, Joe did release “Fastlife” back in 2011. The album was musically very different from the music made by the band of brothers but it was still very ahead of its time.

Unlike Nick, Joe’s solo album didn’t receive as much critical or commercial acclaim. For fans of Joe Jonas though, the album remains a classic. That’s why it’s only right to spotlight it as the album has recently celebrated being out for 10 years. Released back on October 11th, 2011, the album is honestly full of bops and should be on everyone’s playlist.

Whether you’re a Jonas Brothers fan or not, “Fastlife” could surprise you with how catchy it is and how different it is from what the Jonas Brothers sound is.

If you need new music in your rotation, trying out “Fastlife” by Joe Jonas could be it.

As previously mentioned, “Fastlife” celebrated being released for 10 years. In honor of that, Joe made a post talking about it and it was surprisingly insightful. You can view his full post on Instagram, but there are a few lines worth mentioning.

In particular, “Fastlife pushed me to focus and work on my mental health in a way I’d never had to before. This album made me realize that it’s not about how many people listen to your music or how many albums you sell…” While he talked about how it wasn’t nearly as successful, he did show appreciation for his fans and himself as the album was his first step into solo music.

It would only be right to talk about some hits from the album. The most popular song from the album has to be “See No More”, which was the first single. It’s a breakup song that talks about having your heart broken and not wanting to see that person anymore, which is relatable. The music video from the song is a visual masterpiece, especially with all the fire.

Another hit that came from “Fastlife” is “Just In Love.” On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have a song about being in love. The song is basically about admitting you’re in love with someone even though they might not believe you. Unlike “See No More,” this song has more of a club feel and will make you want to dance. Plus it had an incredibly cute music video plus there’s an alternate version featuring Lil Wayne.

While those two songs were the biggest highlights, the album featured a total of 12 songs with a mixture of hits and misses. Some fan favorites included “Lighthouse,” “Sorry” and “All This Time.” Overall, the album is unlike anything we’ve heard from the Jonas Brothers and leans more towards Nick’s solo stuff.
