The Walking Dead has reached the first milestone in its finale season with “For Blood”, which brings the first eight episodes to a close. In this episode a battle is brewing in Meridian while the people in Alexandria are battling a storm.
Here’s the synopsis of “For Blood” from AMC: “The Reapers defend Meridian from an incoming herd. Pope suspects Maggie is behind the attack, while Daryl treads carefully. Meanwhile, Alexandrians scramble to protect themselves when a violent storm leaves them vulnerable to walkers.”
What is The Walking Dead season 11 episode 8 about?
This is the first of two mid-season finales for The Walking Dead’s final season and things have been moving steadily toward a confrontation with the Reapers at Meridian. Things haven’t been good for the people back in Alexandria and now a storm makes things even worse.
Daryl has been trying to find his place with the Reapers but Pope still doesn’t trust him. It’s very likely that Pope never trusted him, but Daryl is useful to him so Pope keeps him around. Leah is stuck trying to keep the peace between Daryl and the other Reapers because they don’t trust him.
To make matters worse for the Reapers, there’s a walker herd heading their way. What they don’t know is that Maggie and Negan are leading the walkers toward Meridian in a carefully organized attack. But will it work?
Lastly, there’s Alexandria. Poor Alexandria. After being run through by the Whisperers, it has definitely seen better days. All season long the group has been trying to restore order to the community but they’re perilously close to running out of food entirely and they’re tired. Now there’s a storm. How much more can they possibly take?
The next eight episodes of The Walking Dead will return Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT on AMC, and once again new episodes will be available one week early for AMC+ subscribers.
