If you haven’t seen the hilarious Apple TV+ show, Ted Lasso, now is the time. Not only did the cast just win four Emmys, but the finale episode of the second season airs tonight. If you’re already an AFC Richmond devotee, we suspect you’re going to dress up as the eponymous Kansas football coach who is the leader of a soccer team in England for Halloween. We’ve gathered together all the items you’ll need to create your DIY Ted Lasso costume for Halloween.
AFC Richmond Hoodie and Shirt
Any self-respecting coach has to wear their team’s merchandise, and Ted Lasso is no exception. Usually, he is sporting the team’s logo on a sweater vest, but state-side, we think a hoodie or t-shirt will be more appropriate. Both of these garments feature the AFC Richmond greyhound crest, so other fans of the show will pick up on your outfit effortlessly.

Mustache
During both seasons of the show, Ted Lasso has a mustache that could rival Tom Selleck’s from his Friends years. Though we can only imagine how actor Jason Sudeikis, who plays Ted Lasso, manages his mustache when the show isn’t in production, thankfully, we can just buy a stick-on mustache for October 31 instead of attempting to grow one in time.

Visor, Sunglasses, and Whistle
Though England isn’t the sunniest place, it still can rain or snow, and having a visor and sunglasses can be helpful on the pitch. Ted always wears a visor and aviator sunglasses when he is outside, so it’s only fitting that you bring one along while you trick-or-treat. Similarly, as a coach, he needs a whistle while he is at training, so make sure to pick one up and hang it around your neck.

Bonus: Believe Mug
Though this isn’t a requirement, it is a fun Easter egg for other fans who might find you Halloween night. During the pilot episode, Ted puts up a “Believe” sign in the locker room to motivate the team. Later in the season, we find out that Ted also has these signs in his home. This mug is a perfect addition to your costume to make sure fans know exactly how dedicated you are to the “Lasso Way.”
