Demi Lovato has been out of the music spotlight following the 2018 overdose that almost that almost took their life. Now, in an interview with the Today show, they addressed their future outside of the Hollywood spotlight in a way that they have not spoken about before. After coming out as nonbinary and gender fluid, Demi has started a podcast where they have spoken about these issues and their professional life. In this interview they did not shy away from more personal questions.

What did Demi Lovato speak about during the interview?

While speaking with Hoda Kotb, Demi addressed the possibility of having kids.  They stated that while they are happy in the point they are in their career and their personal life, having reached the age of 30 without having kids, they do have a ‘maternal’ instinct.

"They said:“I’m going with the flow and if life presents itself with a child in the future, then it does, and we’ll take it. We’ll see what happens.”"

Demi added that while many things in their life have not changed, such as their wardrobe, their identity is just as masculine as is feminine. That is why they are comfortable not having children or ruling that out of the picture.

With Demi taking such a stance and comfortable approach to their identity, they are opening the door for many individuals to be comfortable with their gender identity.  Demi has been a role model for many from a young age and now continues to be a role for many as she continues to be an advocate for years to come.
