Two episodes are left in the fifth season of Riverdale‘s new time jumped reality. Last week saw the conclusion of Betty and Jughead’s investigation as they discovered the truth of Riverdale’s Mothman myth and found Polly’s body.

Meanwhile, Veronica faced down her father and rid herself of Chad at last while Cheryl’s religious awakening seemed to help save Archie from a mining accident. With just two episodes left, let’s see what’s in store for this week’s penultimate season 5 installment.

Per IMDB, the synopsis for this week’s episode, “Chapter Ninety-Four: Next to Normal” reads:

"Refusing to accept what’s going on around her, Alice creates an imaginary musical fantasy world in which the Coopers are one big happy family again. Veronica and Archie make a big decision about their future."

With FP out of the picture and Betty “grown up,” Alice has taken a bit of a backseat this season. Devoting an episode to her grief following Polly’s murder will be a crushing but needed moment for the character.

The official preview for this week’s episode gives us a look at the heartbreaking aftermath of the discovery of Polly’s body:

The synopsis promises a musical episode, but we don’t get a glimpse of that in the preview. However, we do see Alice struggling to cope as she hallucinates Polly at the dinner table. After everything she’s been through, it’s the least her brain can do to give her time to adjust.

On a lighter note, Archie and Veronica are officially back together and free to take the next step in their relationship. Will Veronica mourn her husband or face consequences for his murder? That remains to be seen. As always, you’ll have to tune in to find out.
