Riverdale is winding down its fifth season and seems to be finding its groove back to its wacky and wholesome heart. Last week’s episode saw Archie continue to deal with his PTSD while Veronica worked to outsmart her father once again.

Meanwhile, Cheryl and Kevin created a scheme to canonize Cheryl as a saint while Betty and Jughead confronted their demons. With lots of questions left to answer, let’s dive into this week’s episode.

Per IMDB, the synopsis for this week’s episode, “Chapter Ninety-Three: Dance of Death” reads:

"After learning that a friend has gone missing, Tabitha enlists help from Jughead and Betty. Penelope plants doubt in Kevin’s mind. An explosion at the mines leaves several lives hanging in the balance."

On top of being a football coach, firefighter, running the El Royale, and whatever else, Archie is now also working in the palladium mines, leading to an explosion in this week’s episode.

Meanwhile, it appears that Cheryl’s mom, Penelope, doubts Cheryl’s religious experience is real, but is she sincere or just upset after being thrown out of the church she started?

Amidst the drama of Archie’s life hanging in the balance, Jughead and Betty appear to be back together investigating. Ah, just like old times. The trailer also gives us a glimpse of Toni running from a Mothman-like creature and Cheryl’s apparent religiosity.
