The idea of Timothee Chalamet joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a dream to Marvel fans and after seeing the actor suit up as Nightcrawler we see why.

Despite being more than a decade removed from its launch, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still going stronger than ever before.

Not only is Marvel Studios still king of the box office, but it’s also making waves on the small screen with its Disney Plus originals which have not only been viewer by millions but have even earned the studio Emmy acclaim. And the studio shows no signs of slowing down.

Marvel has already confirmed several new films and series, with even more mystery projects still in the works.

Among the many projects fans are anxiously awaiting news on is the studios’ plans for the X-Men franchise and the rich characters the studio now has the rights following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

While Marvel Studios has been slow to reveal its plans for the X-Men, anticipation continues to build as fans are counting down the days until the beloved heroes and villains from the franchise make their way into the MCU. As fans continue to wait for news from Marvel, all eyes have been on who the studio will cast to play key roles within the franchise.

Although no casting decisions have been announced just yet nor has been revealed which X-Men characters Marvel might turn to first, thanks to an incredible new piece of fanart, we’ve been given our first glimpse at what Timothee Chalamet could look like in the role of Nightcrawler!

X-Men fanart transforms Timothee Chalamet into Nightcrawler

Clearly inspired by the looming arrival of the X-Men within the MCU, digital artist Captain Iron Widow recently debuted an incredible rendering of the Oscar-nominated Chalamet in the role of Nightcrawler which has given fans the chance to see just how amazing he could be as the iconic X-Men hero.

In the stunning concept art, Chalamet is transformed into Nightcrawler with impeccable details that help to bring the character to life. From the character’s signature blue skin tone to his iconic red costume, no detail has been spared for the concept art envisioning Chalamet as Nightcrawler.

Maybe it’s the design or maybe it’s seeing Chalamet suit up as Nightcrawler, but the key art absolutely gives us chills and makes a compelling argument for why he’d be perfect in the role if given the chance.

Has Timothee Chalamet met with Marvel about joining the MCU?

Marvel Studios is notorious for keeping its meetings under the radar in order to prevent casting news from leaking out before they’re ready to reveal news to fans. Because of this, it’s unclear whether the studio has had any meetings with Timothee Chalamet but reports suggest Chalamet is very much on Marvel’s radar!

According to reports from We Got This Covered, Chalamet has long been on Marvel’s radar and the studio is reportedly eyeing the Dune actor for a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Who will Timothee Chalamet play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

At this time, it remains a mystery who Timothee Chalamet might play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and because of how vast the MCU is, it’s hard to predict what character they have an interest in having him play.

Considering Chalamet was among those on Marvel’s shortlist to play the role of Spider-Man before the casting of Tom Holland, the studio clearly sees his star potential. If they saw enough in him to consider him for the role of Spider-Man, one has to imagine if Marvel were to cast him in the MCU they’d aim to find a major role for him when the timing finally works out.
