After months of speculation, Netflix finally announced a premiere date for the highly anticipated third season of the controversial drama You and fans are screaming with anticipation.

The series stars Penn Badgley as the deeply creepy Joe Goldberg, a seemingly nice guy who’s actually a violent serial murderer who is responsible for the deaths of multiple people on his quest to find love. Season 3 will officially premiere on Friday, October 15.

Beyond its return date, not much is known about the plot of the third season of this suspenseful and dramatic show, but we do know one thing: Joe and Love’s baby’s name.

When season two of the Netflix series concluded back in late 2019, we were left with quite a cliffhanger. We found out that after all of the drama and chaos, Love was pregnant. And this revelation left fans itching for more.

In the teaser trailer, it appears that someone is baking a cake, as Joe’s voice narrates over top of the action, seemingly talking to his new child.

“People these days will name their kids anything to get attention,” Joe says ominously in the trailer. “And despite your mother’s background and your Glamma’s determination to refer to you as Forty reincarnated, I know better. A boy is not what we expected, and I would be lying if I said the thought of a mini-me was purely exciting and not without challenges. Let’s just say, I’m hoping you’ll do as I say, not as I do.”

We surely hope his child won’t follow in his father’s violent and chaotic footsteps.

“But for you, I can change. I’ll be a man you look up to. A man you will be proud to call Dad. So, what to call you? A name that’s strong, but not intimidating. Classic, but not basic. Literary, of course, because you will grow up in a house full of books. Henry. Choosing your name is the first of a lifetime of decisions I’ll make to give you the best life possible, to protect you, to shape who you will become. Who are you going to be, Henry?”

The season 3 announcement trailer ends with someone sitting a slice of cake down with the date “10|15|21” written in red icing, which also happens to resemble blood.

Netflix also posted some teaser images of the upcoming season on their Facebook page.

The only thing we really know about season three, according to the official logline, is that Joe is trying to be a committed father and husband, but fears Love, who is also violent and impulsive. There’s also the added complicated factor of Joe being attracted to his new neighbor.
