The highly anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser dropped last night and boy it’s jam packed. The third outing for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man sees the web shooter dealing with the consequences of the second film in addition to the whole new set of problems. Including some enemies that fans are very familiar with.

The trailer opens showing Peter Parker’s life being turned upside down. Well, more than it actually was. Now that the world knows he’s Spider-Man, they’re filming and watching his every move. Even the police have brought him in for multiple cases, including the death of Mysterio. Distraught at how it’s ruining the lives of the people he loves, he turns to the man he thinks will be able to help him – Doctor Stephen Strange.

In an ill-advised move, Strange attempts to help Parker but the spell goes horribly wrong. Wong warned you, Strange. Now they’re left to deal with the aftermath – a rip in time and space that opens up the multiverse. (Or at least more of a multiverse that’s already beginning thanks to Loki.) Will Peter be able to help fix the universe while meeting foes from another life? Check out the trailer for yourself below!

Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser promises epic action

First, did I hear Willem Dafoe laughing as Green Goblin?! Did I?! Please say you brought him back, Sony. He deserves justice in the form of a better suit. I want to see him as Green Goblin again. It’s also been rumored that Charlie Cox will be returning as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil. Which if true, please, that’s so cool. It’s also officially unconfirmed that Jamie Foxx will be returning as Electro so this could be gearing up to be a Sinister Six film inside a Spider-Man movie. It just makes sense to grab villains from the Spider-Man films across the years, right?

One returning character we’ve known about for a bit is Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus a.k.a Doc Oc. It’s so good to see him again. He was a very sympathetic character in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films and I’d love to see what a passage through the multiverse has done to him. Molina looks a little de-aged but hopefully, that doesn’t become too distracting.

I also wonder just how much this is going to affect the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness film. While we know the timeline is all wonky, is this the event that starts his film off? How will Wanda’s actions play into this story or will they not be affected? So many questions, so few answers.

I would be so bold to guess that one of the only villains not entering the fray here will be Venom. He has his own movie to get through and work things out between Eddie Brock before clashing with the web-head. However, it’s possible for them to finally meet in say….a post-credit scene? We’ll have to wait till December 17 to see.
