Here’s what we’re hoping to see in Stargirl season 2
One of the best, if not the best, DC television shows is coming back so very soon! DC’s Stargirl had such a great first season, fans are on pins and needles waiting for more. Though the first season premiered on DC Universe, season 2 will air exclusively on The CW.
To everyone’s surprise, during the final scenes of the season 1 finale Sylvester Pemberton a.k.a. Starman shows up! The same Starman who was supposedly killed 10 years earlier looks like he’s really alive and well the whole time – or does he have a clone?
Hopefully, the answer to that question and more will be revealed in season 2.
DC’s Stargirl: Are Starman and Stargirl going to team up?
Let’s hope the two star-decorated superheroes will team up and take on the season’s new villains. In season, 1 The Justice Society of America consisting of Courtney, Yolanda, Beth, and Rick showed they’re pretty tough for high schoolers after defeating the Injustice Society of America. The time has come to take on some new villains.
We know the main villain in season 2 will be Eclipso after getting a little tease when Cindy Burman finds the gem he’s trapped in at the end of last season. One of the most terrifying DC villains, season 2 is sure to take a dark turn.
Showrunner Geoff Johns says,
"“You will see Nick Tarabay in his horrifying makeup. We wanted to build that moment so that when he finally does set foot in Blue Valley for real and you see him manifest, it felt deserved. It felt scary and it felt like everything had changed. And I think when people see that episode, hopefully, they’ll be both happy and scared when they watch it.”"
DC’s Stargirl: What would a CW show be without an Arroverse crossover?
The Flash’s John Wesley Shipp will appear in the ninth episode of the second season as a flashback portraying Golden Age Flash and a member of Earth-2’s Justice Society of America.
This opens the door to more crossovers in the future. With Stargirl and The Flash taking place on two different Earths, it’ll be fascinating to see how they come together.
During a press event, Johns revealed a little more information about this
"“And when he started playing Jay Garrick and we introduce our version of the Justice Society and we’re on earth-2 like the comics, we’re on our own Earth separate from the rest of these shows, but to have John play Jay Garrick The Flash in Stargirl, it connects our universe directly with the other shows and also shows that we’re part of a grander universe. And it opens up the door to opportunities for us to eventually interact with those characters. And that was important, just like the comics, and when we do do it, we’ll do it in a hopefully very special Stargirl way.”"
Season 2 of DC’s Stargirl 2 begins on Tuesday, Aug. 10 at 8/7c
