As if this week couldn’t get more exciting, James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is coming to HBO Max early! Fans will be able to cozy up at home and watch the latest DC film in their best footie pajamas.
So when exactly will fans be able to soak in the madness surely coming our way? According to reports, The Suicide Squad will launch on HBO Max for subscribers on Thursday, August 5th at 7 pm ET. I know where I’ll be when it’s that time!
Additionally, fans will be able to see it in theaters starting Thursday evening.
The Suicide Squad launches onto HBO Max early
Personally, I’m really excited to see the film. I want to see how Gunn handles all of the characters as well as see if he ties any of it back to the David Ayer version. It’d be pretty fun if the remaining characters have worked together before and must now attempt to learn how to work with others.
One thing that has been on my mind (outside of the potential kill count) is just what The Thinker’s (Peter Capaldi) role in all of this is. They seemingly need to track him down for his help with something, but what? Maybe translating to Starro? I’m not sure!
Speaking of Starro, I really like that he’s going to be playing one if not the only villain in the film. For those unaware, Starro was the first villain the Justice League of America ever fought! Introduced into the comics in Brave and the Bold #28 (1960), the starfish-shaped alien has made multiple appearances in DC media. The Suicide Squad will mark his live-action debut!
Now it’s your turn to tell us what you think in the comments below! Are you excited to see it early? Are you still going to go see the film in a bombastic theater? Let us know!
