It’s not long until we’ll have to say our final farewell to Supergirl. As the final episodes of season 6 begin, Kara has returned from the Phantom Zone but the experience has deeply changed her. How will this tie into the show’s finale?

We’ve got our first hint in the trailer for Supergirl’s final run of episodes

The teaser begins with Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) recalling her time stuck in the Phantom Zone. The experience has shaken the superheroine to the core, asking her sister if the fear will ever go away. She’s very clearly traumatized.

However, she’s reminded that her friends will be there for her and help her no matter what. They’ll ban together and try to save the world, at least one more time. Since the trailer teases that Kara may in fact sacrifice herself to save people. We’re hoping it’s a fake-out. That’s not going to happen, right?

Supergirl’s final season gets a new teaser

Either way, we’ve been promised a whole lot of action to wrap up Supergirl’s story. How will the other characters have their stories concluded? Will we ever see Supergirl again on another CW show? There’s so much to think about!

Check out the teaser below:

It’s bittersweet to see this show end. For one, Supergirl was the first superheroine to have her own TV series in this CW era. The diversity of the cast along with the socially relevant stories and standout acting – everything about this show was great.

Was it cheesy at times? Yeah. Could it get real corny? Absolutely. But it still brought representation that is still needed in the genre. And it was just so comforting to see a powerful heroine on screen that wasn’t through the lens of all men. It will be hard to say goodbye to Kara Zor-El.
