Gossip Girl season 1 episode 2 live stream: Watch online
HBO Max’s flashy reboot of The CW’s classic Gossip Girl has finally arrived. The series premiere, “Just Another Girl on the MTA” took some interesting twists and turns.
The new series picks up about ten years after the original series, following a new group of students at the same school Serena and her friends previously attended.
In this iteration, the main feud is focused on Zoya and Julien, two half-sisters who were raised without having any relationship. In the premiere, the two conspire to bring Zoya to Constance, hoping they can get to know each other and finally get the closeness they never had.
Of course, thanks to the reintroduction of the long-dormant Gossip Girl, their plan soon unravels and the tentative allies soon turn into straight-up frenemies. It’s the same old conflict with a sibling rivalry twist.
Per IMDB, the synopsis for the second episode, “She’s Having a Maybe,” reads:
"As Zoya hesitantly explores a new romantic interest, Max aggressively pursues one of his own. Meanwhile, Julien sets out to fix her mistakes."
Based on last week’s episode and the synopsis above, we can assume that Zoya and Obie are going to continue to pursue their attraction for each other. (The two hit it off discussing activism and politics, something that none of their other friends expressed an interest in.)
Meanwhile, Gossip Girl not so subtly foreshadowed an eventual menage à trois between Max, Audrey, and Aki as the trio’s affairs become increasingly entangled.
