E3 is always one of the most fun times to be a gamer. We get to see all of the big companies showing off what’s coming soon in their franchises or on their consoles and hope for some fun surprises along the way.

The good news is that E3 2021 is already in full swing, and this past weekend was full of fun announcements. We’ve outlined the five biggest announcements you may have missed from the panels over the weekend.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy from Square Enix trailer

Plenty was left to be desired from Marvel’s Avengers that launched in the fall last year. But focusing on one segment of superheroes like the Guardians may be the better way to go for Square Enix. Plus this is a single-player title, unlike Avengers, so it should be much more focused.

It just looks like a playable version of the movies (soundtrack included) and I don’t know how anyone couldn’t be excited for this, especially if you’re a Marvel fan. The humor is there, the action is there, and it’s our favorite bunch of a-holes out protecting the galaxy.

Starfield release date

Starfield has finally received a release date. Unfortunately, it’s not until 2022. But with how some games have jumped the gun to still come out “on time” and aren’t as good as they should be (looking at you, Cyberpunk 2077, that I haven’t touched since January). You have some time to wait until Starfield arrives on Nov. 11, 2022, so just keep watching that teaser trailer on repeat.

It’s also an Xbox exclusive upon launch. Keep that in mind!

Will Halo Infinite feature multiplayer?

Microsoft went big with their presentation and fans were happy to see a closer look at Halo Infinite‘s free multiplayer mode. 343 Industries claims there are “millions” of customization combinations for your armor and weapons and vehicles will also have options (though not as many). Still no firm release date, so expect it sometime during Q4 of this year.

Battlefield 2042 first look

The footage is from a pre-alpha release, showing clips from a 128-player match. Longtime fans of the series will see some familiar features and weapons and even some futuristic twists on equipment and vehicles used in real life today. Plus it looks so much like Battlefield 4, which feels like the perfect return to form for the franchise.

Battlefield 2042 is set to release on October 22 of this year.

Diablo II: Resurrected release date

The remastered version of this classic game Diablo II: Resurrected releases on Sept. 23, 2021. It was also confirmed that it’s coming to PC! If you pre-order it, you’ll also have early access to the open beta. And if you’re like my husband, you’re already prepping to lose hours upon hours of your life playing the remaster.

Elden Ring first look

The much-anticipated look at Elden Ring, the FromSoftware game done in collaboration with George RR Martin gave fans a teaser trailer and a release date: Jan. 21, 2022. It looks like Lord of the Rings mixed with Bloodborne and that’s not a bad thing.
