Xbox Live Gold keeps chugging right along each and every month with four new offerings for subscribers. They’re never the best in the world, but if you don’t want to spend the money on Game Pass, it’s still not a bad deal.

Below are the offerings for June 2021 and the dates they’re available to play:

  • The King’s Bird, June 1 to 30
  • Shadows: Awakening, June 16 to July 15
  • NeoGeo Battle Coliseum, June 1 to 15
  • Injustice: Gods Among Us, June 16 to 30

Xbox Live Gold June 2021 highlights

First up in June is The King’s Bird, which originally released in 2018. It’s a platformer with physics-based movements (that get much more difficult towards the end of the game). But the art style and the environment of each level is truly what makes this game worth playing. Every level feels like a living, breathing painting you get to play through. It’s worth playing just to experience that.

Next is Shadows: Awakening, which lets you take control of a demon summoned to consume the souls of dead heroes. This is your single-player RPG offering for the month that gives you real-time tactical combat. The gameplay is deceptively challenging and the storyline will make you want to keep playing just to see what happens next.

Your third choice for the month is NeoGeo Battle Coliseum, which originally released back in 2007. This is your 2D fighter game for the month, and not one of the best choices for the genre. It’s also a 2-on-2 tag battle no matter how many players are actually playing. One of the cool things about this game is that it features forty characters from across game developers’ SNK and ADK’s titles.

Lastly in June is Injustice: Gods Among Us. Another fighting game for this month’s offerings, this one is set in the DC universe and if you love DC (even if you just like DC), you will love almost every second of this brawler. You get a fun storyline with Superman having lost faith in humanity and deciding to start ruling us. You’ll get Mortal Kombat vibes from some of the gameplay, but nothing too overpowering. This is probably the best offering of the month and definitely worth your time.

dark. Next. Microsoft’s attempted Xbox Live Gold price spike may just be the beginning

As always, Dungeons 3 from the May offerings is still available to download until June 15th.
