Premise: Crime dramedy In the Dark returns for its third season and finds Murphy (Mattfeld), Jess (Markham), & Co. on the run following the tragic events of season two’s finale. Murphy and Jess will continue their somewhat dysfunctional friendship, while Max (Deidrick) will come to terms with his feelings for Murphy. Felix (Krantz) finds himself in a conundrum, as he is finally accepted by his friend group, but at the cost of being fugitives.
What started out as a show about a hot mess of a woman who happens to be blind trying to find the identity of the person who killed one of her best friends, has morphed into a complex story of chosen family and either being part of the system or working against it. The fandom of the series was expanded exponentially once the show landed on Netflix, allowing In the Dark to be right up there with TNT’s Claws and NBC’s Good Girls when it comes to badass boss female television.
