Summer TV: Motherland: Fort Salem

Platform: Freeform

Release Date: June 22

Cast: Jessica Sutton, Ashley Nicole Williams, Taylor Hickson, Amalia Holm, Demetria McKinney

Premise: Season 2 of the electrifying witch series Motherland: Fort Salem sees Tally (Sutton), Abigail (Williams), and Raelle (Hickson) confronting more dangerous magic, higher stakes, and a deadly new threat in the form of an ancient group of witch-hunters called the Camarilla. This season, the girls’ magical training intensifies as they’re promoted to War College, where their magic, relationships, and beliefs will be pushed like never before.

Last season left off on a helluva cliffhanger, as Tally volunteered to become a Biddy in order to save General Adler’s life, while Abigail and Raelle were left to fend for themselves following a deadly attack against the Camarilla. Oh, and we found out that Raelle’s mom is alive and leading the extremist witch faction called Spree. Motherland: Fort Salem was one of the few shows from last year able to complete their season without delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and was, therefore, able to set up several exciting plotlines for season two.
