The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode 5 live stream: Watch online

After last week’s jaw-dropping installment of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Marvel has just two more episodes to wrap up Sam and Bucky’s story — and with Sam no closer to ripping the shield out of John Walker’s hands, we have to wonder just how this Disney+ series is going to manage it.

Fortunately, it looks like this week’s episode will see Sam reckoning with his decision to give up the shield. The promo for the remaining episodes returns to Sam and Bucky’s conversation from earlier in the series, with Bucky asking Sam why he would forfeit the legacy Steve entrusted him with.

The footage soon shifts focus to Walker proclaiming he’s Captain America and warning the two about getting in his way — and while we’ve seen all of this already, it suggests Sam and Walker will have their big showdown either this week or next. (If we want to see Sam taking on the Flag Smashers as Captain America, hopefully it’ll be this week.)

Of course, Sam’s words at the end of the promo suggest that he’ll finally embrace his new role with or without the shield. “We bled for this country,” he says. “Shield or no shield, I’m not going to let anybody tell me I can’t fight for it.”

With the show finally setting up the confrontation it’s been building to since episode 1, fans can expect an action-packed, suspenseful last two episodes — both of which are likely to change the course of the MCU.
