Who else is getting a bit tired of waiting around for Euphoria season 2 to premiere? While fans were lucky enough to be blessed with two in-between episodes this past winter, we’re still itching for a full-season release. Finding out what’s going on between Rue and Jules has been on our minds now more than ever!

Of course, COVID-19 shutdowns affected production on TV shows and movies across the globe, but as many are now getting back to work, we can’t help but wonder when we’ll be hearing anything about this beloved HBO series.

Euphoria season 2 release date

As of right now, we unfortunately do not have a release date set in stone for Euphoria season 2. However, as reported by Thrillist, filming was believed to have been scheduled for April 5, 2021, per a casting call that was posted. If this is true, then hopefully we’ll get more news about the highly-anticipated release soon.

Zendaya and Hunter Schafer, who play Rue and Jules respectively, have been pretty quiet on Instagram regarding any Euphoria news. Hopefully, they’ll start posting sneak peeks from set soon. We’ll keep you updated with any new information we get!

Rue and Jules’ relationship status

And as we wait, let’s refresh ourselves a bit on where we left off with Rue and Jules. In the first of the in-between season episodes, “Trouble Don’t Last Always,” Rue drops the bombshell to Ali (Colman Domingo) that Jules had cheated on her. Just like viewers, Ali is surprised to hear this and asks Rue if they were even actually dating. In Euphoria season 1, there’s no indication that the ladies are officially in a relationship, leaving us to realize that Rue is an unreliable narrator. What she perceives is different than what is reality.

So did Jules actually cheat on Rue? We don’t think so, but of course, there could be scenes from the series that are omitted for now. In the second in-between episode, “F**k Anyone Who’s Not a Sea Blob,” we get to see everything that went down between Rue and Jules through Jules’ perspective. Fortunately, we are given a chance to sympathize with the character after seeing how badly she unintentionally hurt Rue. This further proves that Rue is interpreting things differently from what’s actually going on.

Euphoria season 2 could throw us a curveball by revealing Rue and Jules were actually in an official relationship, but where things stand right now, Jules did not cheat on Rue. They never spoke about what they were, and from my perspective, they are friends who had crushes on one another but were too scared to actually define anything.

Here’s to hoping Euphoria season 2 sees Rue and Jules in a better place, for both of their sakes.
