The Walking Dead season 10 episode 22 live stream: Watch online

This week The Walking Dead’s extended season 10 wraps up with the highly anticipated “Here’s Negan” episode. The episode delves into Negan’s backstory, including the death of his wife Lucille, and how he came to be the man that ruled over a small corner of the apocalypse world until he met Rick Grimes and the other survivors.

Right now Negan is no longer in prison, but he’s definitely not an accepted member of the community yet. Despite the help that he gave the group during the Whisperer War and the fact that he was the one who killed Alpha, the communities still don’t trust him. And now that Maggie and young Hershel have come home to Alexandria something will have to be done about Negan’s presence there.

This episode is based on the comic backstory of Negan and fans of the comic will see many of their favorite moments brought to the screen, although several have been remixed or left out of the story entirely.

Negan’s wife Lucille, who inspired him to name his primary weapon Lucille, is played in the episode by Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s actual spouse Hilarie Burton Morgan which brings a wonderful authenticity to their dynamic as a married couple.

The official synopsis for The Walking Dead “Here’s Negan” lays the groundwork for an episode focused on how Negan became the man fans know and what might influence him to change in the future:

"“With Maggie back at Alexandria Carol takes Negan on a journey, hoping to minimize the increasing tension. There Negan has too much time to self-reflect, remembering his late wife Lucille’s life and the events that led him to this point. As he mourns his wife for the first time, he comes to a conclusion about his future.”"
