Riverdale season 5 episode 8 live stream: Watch online

Last week’s Riverdale marked a point of no return for basically all of the characters after Cheryl hosted a wild and wicked old fashioned key party.

After learning that Toni’s baby was going to be fathered by and with the soon-to-be-married Kevin and Fangs, Cheryl lashed out in surprise, arranging for the couple’s demise as Kevin also panicked about his upcoming responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Archie realized that while he and Betty have had fun together, his ongoing feelings for Veronica, who finally said goodbye to Chad for good, couldn’t be denied.

And Jughead attended a support group for survivors of extraterrestrial experiences, while still in denial that anything alien has happened.

We’re finally getting to the juicy drama at the core of this season, so let’s see what’s in store tonight on Riverdale.

According to IMDB, the official synopsis for “Chapter Eighty-Five: Destroyer” reads:

"After the Bulldogs lose several football games, Archie and Veronica come up with a plan to boost school spirit. Betty seeks guidance from Cheryl after being faced with a difficult decision to make."

While the synopsis mentions the Bulldogs first and foremost, this week’s preview seems to be primarily focused on Betty’s storyline and the overarching mystery of the season:  the missing and murdered girls in Riverdale and what exactly is happening to them.

It’s likely that Archie and Veronica’s football story will be the lighter subplot of the episode to balance out the darker serial killer moments of “Destroyer.” Ever since the time jump, Riverdale has strongly hinted at Betty’s traumatic past with a serial killer who evaded capture.

Will she face him again in Riverdale in an effort to save her sister, Polly? Is he somehow connected to Jughead’s Mothman conspiracy? Only time will tell.

Whether the episode will explore any of the emotional fallout from last week’s key party also remains to be seen. But Toni will have to learn about Kevin and Fangs’ break up sooner or later as the three of them renegotiate their relationship.
