Right around the time Jeffrey Dean Morgan brought Negan to life for the first time on The Walking Dead, he appeared in a small role in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as Bruce Wayne’s doomed father, Thomas Wayne. Batman v Superman was directed by Zack Snyder, and now that Zack Snyder’s Justice League is out Morgan has a message of support for his friend.

Batman fans have seen Bruce Wayne’s tragic origin story play out through the course of several movies and television series, and it never gets any easier to experience Bruce’s loss. In Batman v Superman, the loss was even harder to deal with because Morgan played his father. (Incidentally, Morgan’s TWD co-star Lauren Cohan played Martha Wayne)

As an esteemed member of the Zack Snyder universe, it’s not surprising to learn that Morgan watched Zack Snyder’s Justice League and enjoyed it. Morgan expressed his excitement for the movie and for Snyder on social media:

Thomas Wayne could return thanks to Zack Snyder’s Justice League story

In the current Batman timeline, Thomas Wayne is dead. Thanks to the multiverse and the Flashpoint story that appears in DC comic book canon, though, Thomas Wayne is alive and well, and in at least one parallel universe he’s the one who dresses up as Batman.

When The Flash movie confirmed that it would be exploring the multiverse, Morgan’s name popped up because Thomas Wayne would be a natural fit in the story if the Flashpoint arc is being explored. As it stands, Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck will both play versions of Bruce Wayne and Batman, so why not go for the gusto and include Morgan as Thomas Wayne?

Next. Zack Snyder's Justice League: There's a path to a sequel if the stars align. dark

As it stands Morgan doesn’t appear to be involved in any upcoming DC films, but given that Zack Snyder’s Justice League came to life it seems like anything is possible these days. And who’s to say there isn’t a super-secret cameo in The Flash that no one wants fans to know about just yet?
