The third of the six bonus episodes of The Walking Dead is focused on Gabriel and Aaron, who are out trying to scavenge for food. It’s been a bit since either of these two characters had the chance for any significant development but this episode goes deep into the toll that surviving in that world takes on a person’s humanity, faith, and hope. And there’s no better characters to get into those issues than Aaron and Gabriel.

This episode also features the arrival of Robert Patrick, who plays a survivor named Mays.

The official synopsis for “One More” says:

"“With Maggie’s map, Gabriel and Aaron search for food and supplies to bring back to Alexandria. Checking out one more location, they chance upon a stash. Faith is broken and optimism is fragmented when they are put to the ultimate test.”"

Each of the six bonus episodes focuses on a different character or small group of characters and the episodes have threads that tie them together similar to the anthology style that Fear The Walking Dead has been using in that show’s current season.

In this episode that thread is Maggie’s map of sites to scavenge. The locations provide some stunning, although dark, imagery that really stands out in this episode. With that being said let’s get into my spoiler-free reactions as I watched The Walking Dead 1019, “One More”:

1.       That’s a gorgeously gross opening sequence. Wow.

2.       Reapers?

3.       Amazing shot. The subtext is fantastic.

4.       Our survivors got tricks.

5.       Socially distanced walkers. Safety first.

6.       Loving the focus on the decay of the last decade and the haunting imagery from the world before.

7.       I’d be over it too Aaron. That doesn’t look fun at all.

8.       Reminds me of the group scratching and clawing for survival in season 5.

9.       Tragically beautiful imagery all over the place in this episode. Still think maybe it has something to do with Reapers.

10.   It’s a trap!

11.   This is going to end badly.

12.   Season 5 food pantry run vibes.

13.   Well that’s something you don’t find every day.

14.   Unless you’re looking for it you wouldn’t notice the social distancing but now it’s all I see.

15.   I love everything about this discussion. So many old world references. They rarely talk about the world before. I’m here for it.

16.   The duo I never knew I needed for sure.

17.   Gabriel backstory? We haven’t had any of that in a long time. This character has come so far. So very far.

18.   Season 5 Aaron. Yes. YES! Come back season 5 Aaron!

19.   6 feet apart gentlemen.

20.   Gabriel is an intense drunk.

21.   Another gorgeous shot. Gorgeous.

22.   Awwwwwwwww crap. Here we go.

23.   I have a really bad feeling about this.

24.   WHERE IS AARON?!

25.   That escalated quickly.

26.   Do you really believe that Gabriel? I’m not sure you do…

27.   What. The. Crap. Nooooo!

28.   My heart can’t take this intensity.

29.   No. No. No. No. No. No.

30.   This. Is. Torture.

31.   That flinch… I FELT that.

32.   That’s 3…

33.   : Internal screaming:

34.   Aaron being Aaron. The purest soul in the apocalypse.

35.   Gabriel the nihilist. That I believe.

36.   Get her name outta your mouth!

37.   :Internal screaming:

38.   Love. Loyalty. Family. The soul of The Walking Dead always comes through somehow.

39.   Well damn. Didn’t see that coming.

40.   Damn Gabriel that is ICE cold.

41.   Wait, what? WHAT?!

42.   Oh my god. Oh my God. OH MY GOD.

43.   He. They. WOW.

44.   You can’t come back from that.

45.   Yeah. That ending is going to mess me up for awhile.

The Walking Dead 1019 is psychologically heavy and the intensity ramps up fast in the second half of the episode so get ready TWDFamily, this episode is a doozy even thought some people will think it’s light on action.
