Last week’s Riverdale saw a very different first day for Archie and the gang as they began their new jobs as Riverdale High’s latest group of teachers. It didn’t take long for Archie to find a project (revitalizing football) while Veronica had to navigate her husband Chad’s sudden appearance in town.

Meanwhile, Toni decided to resurrect the River Vixens, much to Cheryl’s dismay, finally forcing the mournful Blossom out of Thornhill. At the same time, Betty and Alice searched for the missing Polly with a cliffhanger that didn’t look good for Betty’s big sis.

The drama is just getting started in post-time jump era Riverdale. Let’s see what’s in store for this week’s episode.

According to IMDB, the official synopsis for “Chapter Eighty-Three: Fire in the Sky” reads:

"Archie begins to recruit Riverdale’s new volunteer fire department. Veronica comes up with a risky plan to support Riverdale’s local businesses, while Jughead and Tabitha begin to unravel an old mystery."

As seen in the trailer above, and in the synopsis, Archie is going to recruit and rebuild Riverdale’s volunteer department. Why? That remains to be seen. This on top of his duties with the football team and RROTC will surely give Archie a full plate with plenty of stories to tell.

Additionally, Cheryl appears to be fully sucked back into the Riverdale High drama as she fights Toni for her place in the River Vixens. As theorized last week, this may be exactly what Toni has intended in order to lure her former paramour back out into the real world.

As for Betty, and the big mystery of the season, it looks like whatever has happened to Polly will lead Betty down the path of discovering the larger, darker mystery of the haunted highway on Riverdale. What will unfold? You’ll have to tune in to find out.
