March 2021 book release: Phoenix Flame – Sara Holland

The story of the magical inn at Havenfall continues in Sarah Holland’s contemporary fantasy follow-up, Phoenix Flame.  The story picks up roughly where Havenfall left off: Maddie has saved the crossroads-between-realms Inn at Havenfall from the villainous Silver Prince, her uncle Marcus is recovering and resuming his duties as Innkeeper, and they’ve promised to reopen the doors to the formerly banned shapeshifting people known as Solarians.

But Maddie still wants to figure out how to stop the forbidden black-market trade of magical objects, silver items imbued with pieces of Solarian souls. This quest will require her not only to face her death row inmate mother again but to learn the truth about what happened to her adopted Solarian brother who was abducted. And let’s not forget the Silver Prince is still out there somewhere, too.

The official synopsis reads as follows.

"Maddie thought her problems were over. She saved the Inn at Havenfall—a sanctuary between magical worlds—from the evil Silver Prince. Her uncle the Innkeeper is recovering from a mysterious spell that left him not quite human. And there are still a few weeks of summer left to spend with her more-than-friend Brekken. But there’s more work to be done to protect the Inn—Maddie must put an end to the black-market trading of magical objects and open the Inn’s doors to the once feared land of shapeshifters. As she tries to accomplish both seemingly impossible tasks, Maddie uncovers secrets that could change everything. What if saving everyone means destroying the only home she’s known?"

Phoenix Flame is available on March 2.
