10 best female friendships in film from the past decade

The Bellas (Pitch Perfect franchise)
Acappella can be a tough gig, so we’re glad this all-girl group has each other’s backs. Starting in 2012, Pitch Perfect introduces us to The Barden Bellas, a college-level acappella group that is struggling to find new members following an embarrassing loss at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. Forgoing their quest to find “hot girls who can sing,” Bellas Aubrey Posen (Anna Camp) and Chloe Beale (Brittany Snow) recruit a motley crew of newcomers, including the rebellious Beca Mitchell (Anna Kendrick), boisterous Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson), and soul singer Cynthia Rose (Ester Dean).
While some off the girls get off on a wrong start, they are eventually able to come together to prove they are worthy competitors in the acappella arena. Along the way, they form friendships with each other, much like a musical sorority, that will last for years to come. Over the course of three films, we get to see each character evolve and eventually become a young adult — all while being there for each other and singing their hearts out.
With the latest film of the Pitch Perfect franchise coming out in 2017 and still churning a significant profit, it’s possible that we haven’t seen the last of this girl group just yet. While it’s a popular opinion that the third film isn’t quite as good as the previous installments, we’re willing to bet there is still room for another round of The Bellas.
